My little Paolo Buffa bench’s original 1940’s cover needed refreshing. I found just the right out of stock Clarence House linen velvet for it’s replacement. This is what we found underneath it’s original upholstery. Straw! Not horsehair.. Economically, 1940’s Italy faced hard times. Even Arrighi in Cantu had to be resouceful. I can’t wait to see it in it’s new cover. And yes we are retaining the straw as I respect it’s history.
