We are excited to share that Blair + Mui Dowd Architects are working with Vanderbilt University Medical Center on the new 15-story, 470,000 sf Link Building at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Meeting Nashville’s need for additional capacity, the new VUH tower will add approximately 180 inpatient beds, 10 operating rooms, radiology services, and multiple specialty clinics. The two-phase project is underway and scheduled to be completed in early 2027.

We are proud to announce that Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt Vertical Expansion has received a Vista Award in the renovation category at this year’s PDC Conference. Congratulations to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and our co-honorees Turner MidSouth, Turner Construction Company, Structural Design Group, Smith Seckman Reid, Inc., and the full AEC team.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is middle Tennessee’s only freestanding children’s hospital and the region’s only comprehensive, nonprofit pediatric health care provider. The result of this renovation project is a 250,000-square-foot vertical expansion that increases the bed count from 261 to 337, advancing the scope of the hospital’s pediatric health care programs to meet the community’s needs. The project was completed under budget with zero interruptions to hospital operations over the 48 months of construction.
