From as early as I can remember, my mom dressed us up for every occasion. Even if those meant schooldays. I'm a firm believer that when you look good, you feel even better. Having the opportunity to work with my dear friend Christopher Korey in designing his atelier in his ultimate old Hollywood art deco style was truly a treat. We started with the rug and from that and designed the space in a black & white scheme. Timeless and memorable, just like him.

Here, the architecture does a lot of the talking — soaring ceilings, exposed beams, steel-framed windows, and a fireplace that anchors the room. The furnishings keep it soft and livable, while the collected pieces add character, history, and just enough tension.

How many of you find yourselves looking back as opposed to looking ahead? It’s a natural tendency. However I’ve been more consciously making the decision to look towards the future and all its possibilities. However, over the weekend I was looking back at some of the work we’ve completed over the years. I am always my own biggest critic. The photos in this post are from a show house we did for where we had to use their cataloged furnishings to create a space. All of the furniture aside from the bed were to be auctioned after the run of the show house. Since it was Sotheby’s, known for their big dollar art auctions I decided to be a bit cheeky and have the walls drawn in a Cy Twombly scribble which we have produced and now sell as wallpaper. The point of this story is that ten years later, I am still tremendously proud of this space.
