Hi! It's been awhile since I've posted here on my Handyman page. I came across this comic last night on Facebook and just have to share it with you. Makes me giggle every time I look at it.

On another note, I've had a many people contact me in the past asking if I carry insurance or COI as their buildings all require anyone doing work to be insured. As an independent freelance contractor I don't have as it would be far too expensive for me to pay for. However if you hire me through TaskRabbit they carry a COI which is valid for all contractors on their platform. The price is a bit more than my $55 per hour though. Do you have a window mounted AC like most New Yorkers? Unless you're in a luxury high rise building with central air you have one of these secured outside your window, hopefully resting on a support bracket as mandated by NYC building code. I've installed 100+ AC units over the past several years. As you probably know, an AC needs to be slightly tilted backwards when it's installed, so that the condensation drips from the back of the unit outside your window, and not inwards into your apartment. Yes, all AC units 'drip' - or rather have a drainage hole for water to drain. Sometimes this is an issue for whomever / whatever is underneath and the drippage needs to be diverted.

I've been hired several times recently to divert the water flow from external AC units and wanted to share the info with you. In short, find the quarter-sized hole in the bottom or back of your AC unit. Once found plug in an attachment with a hose (the length will vary depending on how far you'll need to divert the drip). It's as simple as that.

Hello everyone. My mom is getting rid of her leather couch as her and her hubby just bought a new one. It's still in good condition and I can vouch that she doesn't have bed bugs or any other creepy crawlies hidden in it. Maybe some loose change though but that's mine if you find it...

The dimensions of the couch are 84 x 36 x 36 (in inches of course).

It's free, but you'll have to come get it and transport it to wherever you live. Of course as a professional Handyman I can offer my services to help you. The building my mom lives in in Hell's Kitchen has a service elevator we can use. I don't think the couch comes apart as when she bought it the company delivered it and it came in one piece.
