Wood betony is a wonderful perennial plant for shady areas. It will happily grow under deciduous trees, around tree lines and north sides of buildings. 🌳 Anywhere there is shade. It does need some light so avoid extremely dense shade, it will also not grow under coniferous trees. Easy to grow with attractive mid green leaves in rosettes and showy spikes of purple flowers in summertime when little else will flower under trees. Will make a great summer ground cover in shady areas with little maintenance.🌿 It’s a beautiful day to browse our garden center ☀️

What's the Hype about Hydrangeas? 👨‍🌾

Here's the deal...there are MANY different varieties of Hydrangeas! There are some for sun, and some for shade! Some change colors depending on the soil pH and some don't! 🌸

They can grow anywhere from 2ft tall to 10 ft tall depending on the variety! 🌱

🌿 A few additional tips to note:

⭐️ Although hydrangeas love plenty of water, they will not tolerate wet feet - ever! Be cautious not to over water.
⭐️ They prefer some sun each day... even the varieties that do well in shady areas. Hydrangeas will look and flower best with at least four hour of sun, ideally in the morning.
⭐️ Panicle hydrangeas are the most sun tolerant, and can take full sun in northern climates.
⭐️ Hydrangeas have shallow roots, so they dry out quickly! A 2-3" layer of shredded mulch is a useful addition to any hydrangea planting.
