Phase 1 – Restoration Begins

Today we started the first phase of our project at the German Evangelical Lutheran Church: carefully removing the main entrance doors to begin the full restoration process.

These historic doors, which have welcomed visitors for decades, are now on their way to our workshop where each detail will be restored with precision to preserve their original beauty and ensure many more years of service.

This is just the beginning!
🔹 Phase 1: Front doors
🔹 Phase 2: Rear windows
🔹 Phase 3: Front façade windows

We are proud to contribute to the preservation of this important landmark and to continue building history through restoration.

The Engenho Central of Piracicaba, SP — a Brazilian historical landmark calling for restoration

I recently visited the Engenho Central, one of the most iconic examples of Brazil’s industrial architecture. Built in the late 19th century, this former sugar mill is a true testament to the strength and beauty of brick masonry, traditional ironwork, and timeless industrial design.

Walking through its arches, corridors, and large windows, you can feel the rich history embedded in every wall — but also see the urgent need for careful restoration and conservation work to preserve this heritage for future generations.

As a professional dedicated to historical conservation and restoration, I see incredible potential here: to restore this architectural treasure while respecting its original character, craftsmanship, and cultural significance.

The Engenho Central deserves to be revitalized and brought back to life as a living piece of history — a place that continues to inspire and connect people with the stories of our past.

I’m sharing these photos to highlight not only its remarkable beauty, but also to remind us how important it is to protect and invest in our architectural heritage.

If you are passionate about restoration, conservation, or architectural heritage, I’d love to hear your thoughts and connect.

Before & After — Historic Window Restoration

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the transformation from worn and neglected to fully restored and beautiful again.

These historic arched windows went through a complete restoration process: stripping decades of old paint, repairing damaged wood, replacing broken glass with matching antique wavy glass, reglazing, refinishing, and reinstalling everything with care.

Proud to share this project, completed together with Preserv Inc., a key name in the preservation community.

Keeping original craftsmanship alive is what drives us every day.

Restoration in Progress

We’re moving steadily through the restoration of these beautiful historic sash windows.

After carefully removing the loose and damaged wood components, we’ve reassembled and reinforced each piece — using traditional joinery techniques, wood consolidant, and epoxy filler where needed. The paint has been stripped, the profiles reshaped, and now we’re in the stage of glazing and reinstalling the antique glass.

These windows are almost ready to go back to their original place, looking as elegant as ever and ready for another century of service.

Next step: on-site installation!

We’ve officially kicked off a very special project in the heart of Manhattan!

We are proud to begin the first full restoration of the altar at the Manhattan Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located in the historic West Village. This sacred space was originally built using oak wood from the era in which the church was constructed.

Our scope of work includes:

• Full altar restoration
• Handcrafted reproduction of missing elements
• Careful removal of the old stain
• Application of a fresh new finish to breathe life back into the wood

This project is more than restoration — it’s a fusion of craftsmanship, historical respect, and precision. Every detail is being handled with the reverence this historic structure deserves.

Looking forward to sharing the progress as we bring this heritage piece back to life!

Great start to the week!

Today we began removing the first sashes from these beautiful arched windows to kick off the restoration process at this incredible historic church.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be restoring each window inside and out — replacing broken glass, repairing damaged wood, installing new sash cords, and giving them all a fresh finish while keeping the original character intact.

It’s always exciting to bring new life to old craftsmanship.

Excited to begin a new restoration project this Monday in partnership with Preserv Inc.!

We’ll be restoring the beautiful arched windows of this historic church — a truly remarkable structure filled with character and craftsmanship.

Our scope includes a full restoration of the window sashes and frames, inside and out. We’ll be replacing broken glass, repairing or replacing deteriorated wood, installing new sash cords, and carefully stripping old lead-based paint — all while preserving the original architectural details.

This project is especially meaningful to us, not only for its historical significance, but because we’re working alongside Preserv Inc., a highly respected leader in the NYC historic restoration field.

Stay tuned for progress updates — and feel free to reach out if you’d like to learn more about the process behind heritage window restoration!
