Visited ‘s booth at the Christmas market today. Found a nice bottle opener. Of course I got home and realized I need a bottle to open with it now. 😂

But it’s pretty! 😁

A few weeks ago, I opened our dishwasher to find an E09 error code on it. Quick Google search found that the issue is the heater/circulator motor for this code. There’s two options in this situation: replace the whole dishwasher (a cost of in excess of $900) or replace the part (cost of about $100). I do suppose there’s a third option, pay someone to fix it, but honestly? This dishwasher wasn’t even in warranty anymore, so paying a professional didn’t seem logical once I watched the video and realized how easy the fix was.

This dishwasher’s served us well, been problem free for the decade-ish that we’ve had it, and having just paid for a transmission on my wife’s car that I’m still paying for, the only solution was to buy the part and figure it out myself.

It’s not a difficult fix (hardest part was disconnecting the hose clamp, and I was able to do it without having to disconnect the water supply and drain hoses) and this, a freshly completed cycle, confirms the fix worked. No E09 code, no leaks, and the dishwasher is back to working again. 😁

From a campground garbage container. Can we discuss the specificity of the list here? First of all, leading the list of things not allowed in the container as “overfilling” seems… weird. Like, overfilling isn’t a thing you put in the container, it’s something you do to the container. Hot ashes, well, makes sense, since you’re in a campground in the woods and that’s a fire hazard. Construction materials, paints — also makes sense, but how many construction materials or paints are showing up in the middle of the woods? Auto parts? Okay, it’s possible someone has a part break that they have to replace at the campground, pack it out. But… Dead animals? Was this a problem? Were people just randomly throwing dead animals in the trash here? If they made a sign about it I’m forced to assume this happened more than once. Was there a suspect? Did they positively ID someone named Murray as having tossed dead animals in this and they were being passive aggressive and instead of confronting him about it they had a custom can lid printed? Or did an animal crawl in of its own volition, become trapped and die, and they’re just blaming Murray?

Why does this exist?
