In January, Carol joined the Community Garden, where she inherited a couple of green bean plants, a cherry tomato, and arugula in her garden. She planted zucchini seeds in February and has already harvested over 30 squashes! She has several tomato varieties, basil, and cauliflower growing. Did you plant potatoes this spring? When the leaves turn brown, stop watering your plants to let the potatoes get firm. In a couple of weeks, dig up a test potato or two and see if the skin is thick, if not bury them back in the dirt. Local, organic potatoes are the secret weapon to end world hunger.
