Are you ready for spring?

🙋🏻‍♀️ I know I am!

It’s finally time to start direct-sowing some of the hardier crops here in zone 9, like peas, broccoli, and onions!

When you sow, remember:
🌱 Check your seed packet instructions for when to sow;
🥶 Know your estimated last frost date for your zone; and
🏷 Label everything so you know what you planted. Hand painted labels are still available on Etsy- link bio!

Happy planting! What have you been doing with this beautiful weather we’re having?

It’s not the biggest cauliflower in the world, but the warm weather was making me scared of possible bolting, so off with his head!

I’m envisioning roasted cheesy cauliflower with dinner tonight. Any other suggestions?

The garlic is happily doing it’s thing this winter.

I’m dying to take a peak under the hood, but for now I’ll just try it image the cloves multiplying under the soil.

Nature is amazing!

Slow and steady. Maybe by 2022 I’ll have my first cauliflower!

Can you tell how excited I am for the days to start getting longer?!

This is my first year doing a winter garden and it is testing my patience.

In the summer, I’d go out every morning to harvest, water, and admire all the new growth. Lately, I dutifully check my garden every other day and it seems like nothing has changed! Except maybe the weeds getting taller.

Here’s to the beginning of the end of winter 🍻 And to the beginning of the end of garden boredom 🍻

Cheers!

Watchdog is watching over the cabbage. There’s not much to do in the garden right now.

Other than watching my plants not grow, I’ve taken to buying waaaaay too many seeds for the summer garden. It’s going to be a good summer!

What’s going on in your garden? I need to live vicariously through you.
