We are currently seeking painters to join our team on a seasonal basis for Summer/Fall 2021. Ideal candidates have 1-2 years past experience and are open to additional training/feedback. Painters must have an active driverās license and their own insured vehicle for transportation to/from the job sites across the greater Twin Cities metro. They must also possess outstanding physical dexterity (requirements below), extreme attention to detail, and a strong ability to follow directions.
Summer is our busiest season and will be filled with a variety of indoor and outdoor work including interior painting/refinishing and outdoor pressure-washing, sanding, painting, staining, and spraying decks/fences, etc. Painters will work 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday, and must be flexible to changes in the schedule based on client availability, weather, etc. For example, one day the 8-hour shift may be 7am-3pm, and another day the 8-hour shift may be 9am-5pm.
Painter Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 1-2 years professional painting experience
- Understanding of various finish types (on-the-job training may be provided)
- Experience with a variety of tools (e.g. brushes, pressure washers, paint sprayers, etc.)
- Ability to climb ladders up to 20 ft in the air (no fear of heights!)
- Ability to carry heavy equipment (including painting tools, ladders, and heavy buckets of paint)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Outstanding physical dexterity
- Strong ability to follow directions
- Flexibility
- Ability to maintain professionalism and proper boundaries with clients (e.g. not entering restricted areas of homes or businesses, etc.)
- Active driverās license
- Vehicle for transportation to/from job sites
- Willingness to provide proof of insurance for vehicle
- Willingness to follow all required health & safety guidelines (including COVID-19 safety guidelines)
- Willingness to provide references prior to job offer
Painter Job Duties:
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, pressure washing, repairing holes, or removing old paint or finishes
- Removing fixtures such as door-knobs and light switch covers
- Preparing surrounding areas by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes
- Taping off areas as needed
- Handling planning and prep work in an efficient manner
- Moving furniture and equipment (e.g. ladders) as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
- Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces
- Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete
- Following all directions efficiently and accurately
- Communicating well with teammates and clients to ensure the project is a success
