The best wedding, the best party.
June 21, Summer Solstice. From the Newport Flower Show to rehearsal dinner at The Clarke Cooke House. Our stunning wedding and gorgeous dinner at home followed by Club Leroy, Dancing One Night Only. And wow did we dance! Cam sang one of his songs. Then Brandyn, our best friend and only wedding party member, hosted an after party I don’t think anyone could top! An unforgettable weekend for an incredible celebration of love 🤍

June 21, the summer solstice. We chose the weekend of the Newport Flower Show, a nod to tradition in our family and also the start of the season, something we wanted to share with all our loved ones. Guests gathered in a circular ceremony, an intentional choice so that everyone surrounded us as we exchanged our vows.

One year married to this firecracker, caretaker and all around man of the hour no matter the time. This makes for summer number 12 and looking back at these stunning portraits by our dear friend and wildly talented photographer Nick Mele, my heart explodes a bit at this magical weekend in this magical life Michael and I have built together.

The most interesting homes aren’t decorated, they’re collected.

Layer by layer. Trip by trip. Story by story.

A vintage vase discovered in a tiny shop. A painting that reminds you of a place you’ve been. A stack of books gathered over a lifetime. These are the pieces that create depth, character, and a sense of home.

When I’m sourcing for clients, I’m rarely looking for more things. I’m looking for objects with history, beauty, and soul.

Beautiful Things, every Wednesday.

Summer in Newport has arrived and there’s salt in the air, flowers on our dresses and a menagerie of events nearly impossible to mange them all on a single calendar. Beach walks, afternoon dips and too many rosé picnics and dinners to count. But we just wouldn’t have it any other way. There are 100 days of summer, make them count XO Kristen

Sourcing for the perfect piece of artwork for a client or the incredible architectural remnant I’m going to use as a centerpiece and then of course all the objects that have become Forgotten Island, it really is such a treasure hunt for me. Conceptually, bringing layers into your home and way of living, adds the personality and depth we crave in design. When I walk into a someone’s space I want to see exactly who lives there by the books they have on the coffee table and in the dining room. Tell me who you are by letting me see the art in your entry, above the sofa or mantle. This idea of living a considered life feels so much more like discovery and true collecting than conducting and constructing something we’ve been told is perfect styling. I have committed to bringing so much of what I find into the spotlight to share it with you. And you never know, you may just find your next Beautiful Thing in the gallery and online this weekend XO Kristen

What an extraordinary year in an extraordinary life. Michael and I finally wed after a decade and it was more incredible than I could have ever dreamed. My sister Heidi got her kidney transplant and she is healthy !! So many perfect trip moments, most On Holiday, the creative travel project I started officially. I wrapped my largest interior design project to date and was featured in Architectural Digest. Then I started a private members art club KRSTN Editions which has grown so quickly it has taken my breath away. My Substack I started a year ago has taken root and I decided to write a book a year, this year’s is half finished. And now I get to revel in all the new work I’m making in a new evolution in my gorgeous gallery all summer making friends and squeezing every ounce of sunshine and salt air out of Newport. I wish my parents were still in this realm, that Alex could have been at my wedding to annihilate the dance floor and keep my hair in place as she always did and of course that my sweet Uncle Murph could be here this June to have just one more summer with his family. If you’re thinking what you might give me as a gift this year - I urge you to spend more time with the people you love, call that friend you’ve been meaning to connect with and live your most extraordinary life as soon as possible. I am forever grateful to the people in my world that support me and inspire me to keep going in this wild magical time XO Kristen
