The Lincoln County Master Gardener™ Association is a vibrant community of specially trained, volunteer gardeners that supports the OSU Master Gardener Program through a dedication to public education, science-based research and lifelong learning. Pollinator Week is a great reminder that some of Oregon's most important wildlife is also some of its smallest.

Meet Anna's hummingbird.

They're Oregon's largest hummingbird species, but still only weigh about as much as a nickel. Their wings can beat up to 80 times per second, allowing them to hover, fly backward and dart from flower to flower in search of nectar.

While they're fueling up, they're helping pollinate plants along the way.

Think you've seen one before?

Look for a flash of green and a bright pink throat the next time you're outside.
