For years, my small business has been…very small. But it’s time to grow! This Sunday, I’ll have a variety of functional teas including an herbal coffee alternative at the Arlington Q***r Market — and then I’ll be at the Newton Farmers Market on Saturdays this summer. Arlington will have over 40 q***r craft + food small businesses — come drop by if you can!

Time for a little update!

For locals: I’m delighted to report that it looks like I’ll have a spot at the Newton Farmers Market this summer (more details soon!). I’ll be expanding my offerings, so if there are any tea blends or skin care products you’d like me to have available, let me know.

In the meantime, I’ve got a few things in the shop that are especially good for cold/virus season, including:

-- Clear Tea Blend (congestion support + cough-soothing)
-- DIY Elderberry Syrup Kit
-- Daily Tonic (a nourishing blend of vitamins + minerals)
-- Calm (for soothing frayed nerves and anxiety)
-- Goddess (hormone-supportive herbs for cycle balance + PMS)

As a little treat, here's a recipe for a spicy, seed-forward chili crisp I've been making for months. It’s great on beans, eggs, roasted vegetables, soups, avocado toast… anything.

Chili Crunch -- makes 3-4 cups

¼ cup dried minced garlic
¼ cup dried minced onion
2 tbsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
1 cup toasted sesame seeds
1 cup toasted pepitas
2 tsp sweet paprika
½ - ¾ tsp kosher salt
¾ - 1 cup neutral oil (I add more, but make it to your preference)

Toast sesame seeds and pepitas separately until golden and fragrant. Cool completely and grind the pepitas a bit in a coffee grinder. (Also fine to skip!)

Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour in oil and stir to blend; add more oil depending on your preference. Let sit at least 1 hour to allow flavors to develop; the flavor is best if you wait overnight. Store in a glass jar.

Most importantly, this is ridiculously delicious. If you try it, let me know!

With few daylight hours, dry air, and whatever we're calling 2025, here's what I’m actually using right now to stay steady, heading into winter:

• Clear herbal blend for respiratory health, cough, and congestion
• Elderberry daily for immune support
• Daily Tonic as a mineral infusion a few times a week

Nothing fancy, just a few practical mainstays.
That's the short list.

Now that it’s November in Boston, the heat’s on — and it’s time to think about what helps once virus-sharing season gets underway.

If you’d like to start your own small herbal cabinet for winter, these are three blends I recommend keeping on hand:

• Clear — for the coughs that seem to show up and not leave
• Elderberry — steady immune support for the whole family
• Daily Tonic — minerals and nourishment for energy + resilience

These are all simple, reliable, and easy to use — a great foundation.

If you’re more excited about winter *baking* than winter sneezing, I’ve also made a limited batch of vanilla bean paste, using Madagascar Bourbon beans ethically sourced from small farms. Rich, fragrant, and truly delicious -- not on the website yet, but 2-ounce jars will be $10. Let me know if you’d like one!

And if you hold a lot of muscle tension -- from stress, posture, or old injuries -- I’m looking for a few testers for a Pain + Muscle Release tincture I've formulated (lemon balm, chamomile, passionflower, skullcap). It’s the blend that helped most during my own neck-fracture recovery!

Healing is slow work.

I fractured several vertebrae two weeks ago (see also: don’t wear clogs for parkour practice), and my days look a *bit* different now. No driving; moving slowly; trying to rest more; and giving my body every bit of support I can as it knits itself back together.

In the meantime, I’m super-grateful that I’ve been in a season of making a quart of my Daily Tonic blend every day. It’s rich in minerals that help nourish bones and connective tissue — nettle, oatstraw, and horsetail — and it’s continued to be an essential part of my healing and staying cozy.

This isn’t a miracle cure or a quick fix. It’s one steady, grounded practice that supports bone strength and increased nutritional support.
