Muranaka Bonsai Nursery

Muranaka Bonsai Nursery Ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/Muranaka-Bonsai-Nursery-1978 Blog: http://muranakabonsainursery.bl We are a specialty grower of trees for bonsai. George

We field grow many of our trees for bonsai and have over 2 acres of trees. Our specialty is the Japanese black pine. We start our pines from Mikawa seed stock that is imported form Japan. We plant the pines in seed beds, than transplant them into the ground. We prune the pines as seedlings and prune them annually in the field from experience and from techniques taken from Japanese bonsai books. We

also take the same care with our other field grown trees. We are a full service bonsai nursery. We sell pots, tools, books, and everything needed for bonsai. We also provide other services such as shaping, transplanting, babysitting. We are a retail bonsai nursery that is open to the public. We have a presence on e-bay, but e-bay is just a small part of our business. Please visit our nursery if you are in the neighborhood. Also if you would like more information about what is going on at the nursery, go to my blog at muranakabonsainursry.blogspot.com Thank you!

The first is a variegated peach given to me by a dear friend. The second is a picture of a toyonishiki quince. The variegated peach gets white and pink flowers. The quince gets white, pink, red and variegated flowers all on the same tree without being grafted.

This is a Japanese quince called kuro(black). The reason for this is that the buds come out with a very dark color before blooming. It has been very warm lately and the quince thinks it’s spring.

This is a continuation of a post from last year, February 26th, of 2020. As you can see from the photos, the tree grew vigorously in that time period. However, as you can see that the back of the tree is flat because it was growing against the shed. The tree was cut back and placed into a 15 gallon can. As you can see from the last photo, the tree was severely thinned. Now I just have to wait until the backside fills in so I can thin the tree again.
