Gardening with Hamilton County Master Gardeners - Indiana Members of the Hamilton County Master Gardeners Association have completed the Purdue Extension Master Gardener training program.

Welcome to the Hamilton County Master Gardener Association page! We're located in Hamilton County, Indiana and have a strong and active membership who serve as Purdue Extension Master Gardeners. Want to be a citizen scientist, and help manage invasive plants in Indiana using technology? Download the EDDMapS app to report invasive species!

One of the biggest challenges in managing invasive species is simply finding them before they take over. That’s where YOU can help this Memorial Day weekend.

While you’re out hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, or enjoying Indiana’s natural areas, keep an eye out for invasive plants growing wild. A single report can help experts detect new infestations earlier, respond faster, and sometimes stop a harmful species before it becomes a much bigger problem.

You can submit sightings through the EDDMapS app or online at eddmaps.org

If you make a report:
• Take at least one clear photo of the plant
• Only report invasive species growing in natural areas or wild spaces
• Please do NOT report invasive plants intentionally planted in landscaping or gardens

These reports help the Indiana Invasive Species Council track the spread of invasive plants, identify species that may need to be added to Indiana’s invasive species list, and support early detection and rapid response efforts for brand new invasive species entering the state.
