The sounds of a waterfall are just relaxing! This is a 5 x 6 small goldfish pond about 2ft deep that just pulls you into the yard to relax. Add some native plants and landscape lighting and you’re ready to let the stress of the day melt away. Their little dachshund even went for a short swim.

Native Texas plants just can’t be beat…One of my favorites is Desert Willow and is hands down a survivor. Virtually no water needed once established and blooms like crazy. Attracts all the butterflies and hummingbirds. And, no it’s not related to a willow tree.

Today is Women Veterans Day. I know, I know, we already have a Veterans Day. But when you see a woman and a man together that it's obvious the man is in the military do you even stop think that the woman could be a veteran as well? Most of don't and that's the reason we have a day to highlight their service. I know a lot of our customers are women veterans so if you feel inclined to show off a little then post a picture. If not then just give a shout out in support of our sisters in arms.

With all the rain and no need for the sprinklers to run yet this year your lawn and landscapes should be looking amazing!!!🤩 Don’t let a little heat and humidity scare you out of the yard. Take Pride in what makes you different!!!
Have you ever noticed the diversity in our native landscapes. Or what about the inclusion of different varieties and species of plants. All of these together make for an amazing show of color and a strong and healthy environment for our wildlife and pollinators. If you really pay attention, you’ll notice that some of our diverse plants are in peak bloom just as some species of migrating wildlife make their way through the area. Strength in a healthy landscape can be directly attributed to a diverse landscape that is inclusive of many types of native plants including some of our well adapted plants. I’ve had customers question the differences in plants / trees that they purchased at the same time and with similar shape of why they didn’t grow the same way. I like to use an analogy about kids for the answer. When our kids are born and we raise them the same way do they always turn out identical in personality or are there differences that we love that make them unique. So just like our kids or family that turn out different than you expected, our landscape will always be full of surprises that we have to accept and nurture and enjoy. So, remember, having a diverse landscape that includes a variety of plants will make life in the garden an amazing experience.

This family called us and needed help making their backyard useable again. We'll do the other half here in the near future. Drainage was a huge issue so that was addressed with a swale and riverbed to carry the water out to the side yard. We reused her pavers to create a small patio extension leading to the pool, then sod and decomposed granite to make it into an inviting place to spend time.
