Floor to Ceiling Organization 🛠️📦

We teamed up with professional organizer Melanie Seaver and her team from .home.organizers to completely clear this garage floor using a simple blueprint.

Instead of just stacking boxes, we maximized the layout by utilizing different zones to keep the concrete completely open:

1️⃣ The Ceiling: Installed a heavy-duty 4’x8’ rack to get large seasonal items, holiday bins, tents and folding tables completely overhead.
2️⃣ The Walls: Used slatwall to lift sports gear, ladders, yard tools and strollers completely off the floor and onto the wall.
3️⃣ The Workbench: Set up a rolling project station backed with a heavy-duty pegboard, chemical storage shelf, and bright under-mount lighting.

When we mapped out Phase 1 of this workshop build in Brentwood, Tennessee, the client needed massive capacity for seasonal bins and bulky gear, but refused to give up his floor layout. He wanted to park two large SUVs and a future golf cart inside with zero tight fits.

Our strategy was simple...go up:

The Corner Wrap: We built custom wood shelving that extends along the upper perimeter, wrapping around two adjacent walls to give holiday decorations and seasonal items a dedicated home.

The Deep Tiers: Right below, we added two accessible lower shelves to handle commonly used household gear without ever needing a ladder.

The Bulk Zone: For the oversized items that simply wouldn't fit on wall shelves, we secured a structural 4-foot by 8-foot overhead ceiling storage rack.

When your garage has to serve as a high-performance home gym, an active athletic hub, and a safe parking layout for your vehicles, you need a strict zoning blueprint.

For this project in Nolensville, we rescued a spacious 3-car garage from an unorganized dumping zone. While the home had excellent pre-existing overhead ceiling racks, the floor footprint was completely choked out by loose clutter and disintegrated particleboard cabinet units.

We stripped away the decayed compressed wood and re-engineered the footprint into four intentional, highly functional zones:

- Zone 1: The Home Gym – We mapped out the center bay to act as a dedicated fitness area, to leave enough room for the owners to comfortably open their car doors wehn parked inside.
- Zone 2: Bikes & Utility – We activated the perimeter walls with compact SteadyRacks and utility hooks to fold family bikes and yard tools flat against the wall.
- Zone 3: The Sports Zone – We created a high-capacity athletic hub on the side walls to get bulky backpacks, golf clubs, and soccer gear cleanly off the concrete floor.
- Zone 4: Seasonal Storage – By routing long-term bins and seasonal supplies completely onto the heavy overhead racks, we unlocked the floor plan.
