That feeling of defeat when you try to fix something outside your comfort zone, find that what you THOUGHT would fix the issue would be super simple; but the part; lose faith in yourself; wait 18 months get the courage up to finally fix it; only to find out that wasn’t the only problem.

It’s a mixed bag of emotion for me today.

This is how it started.

the beet tops i chopped off Feburary's 25 # bulk bag have taken (i can't believe it, dont know how they've survived...cant wait to eat them up, yum...will I do it again? Six weeks and they are JUST starting to really perk...will pass judgement at 90 days. That's all im willing to wait on.

Asian pear cuttings -
~40 in dirt with rooting hormone ~2/20
~5 in water with no hormone all appear to be doing well, the ones in water are STARTING to root and show green buds.~2/15

Fig trees survived their second winter, new permanent 30 gal pots are in norco...project on deck but there's fruit on the tree's may remove them and transplant trees before it gets too much warmer, dont want them root bound in the pots they are in.

Jolla - is thriving and Im thrilled to say I think ma and i were able to save a small bit of my great gramma's jolla. wont know for sure until it blooms tho...so another year or so.

ONE pea plant out of 12 survived... ... ... (got eaten)

Sugar cane ... may take a while, planted ~2/20

Let's talk finances for a moment.

Sometimes, taking care of the homestead looks like leaving the homestead. This morning I have the opportunity to discuss business management of a local autoshop (that I can see from the homestead) with its owner. It looks like it might be a lucrative partnership.

Friends, I ask that you send positive vibes and juju as this could be a HUGE boon for our family and could change our lives!

I'll talk more about it later but for now, a few gardening chores and coffee in my church before I return to the land of the living.

Hey all - I'm saving money this week, by fixing our mailbox in under 10 minutes I save us 43.50!

You may not need this skill every day, but ... when you do need it, it sure is handy to have the instruction from someone who learned along with you!

If I can, so can you!

There's no reason at all to spend $50 replacing an entire mailbox when you can pop over to your local orange or blue box store and pick up a replacement lock...

Anyone want to guess what the next video will be???? If you said fixing a garage door cable... well you’d be wrong!!!!...

Anyone want to guess what the next video will be????

If you said fixing a garage door cable... well you’d be wrong!!!!!

Later today I’ll be posting about changing the lock on your mailbox... it’s raining out and I’m NOT gonna stand out in the cold and wet dealing with this today. (That wood in the corner is a book case that will have to be moved)
