Framed or frameless cabinets? Here’s how they differ 👇
Framed cabinets
A solid face frame wraps the front of the cabinet box and the doors attach to it. This is the traditional American look and is often paired with inset or overlay doors.
Frameless cabinets
Also called full-access or European style, these have no face frame. Doors cover the whole box, giving a clean, modern look and slightly more usable interior space.
Where framed shines
→ Classic and transitional kitchens
→ Inset door styles
→ A traditional, furniture-like look
Where frameless shines
→ Modern and contemporary kitchens
→ Tight spaces where every inch counts
→ Easier access to drawers and shelves
What to remember
Neither is better for everyone. The right choice depends on your style, layout, and what you store. Door style, hardware, and finish matter just as much.
