We bake even more today across the state. Mother Nature is really bringing everything. Happy Friday, North Carolina! Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected; highs will soar into the 90s, with some areas around 100° or so across the state, a little cooler along the coast and mountains. Heat Index Values (the feels like) will be in the low 100s this afternoon for many, so if you have outdoor plans, make sure you drink plenty of fluids and take it easy. Thanks to the heating of the day and a little front around, isolated to scattered hit or miss showers and thunderstorms will devlop this afternoon and evening. There could be a couple stronger to severe ones with damaging winds being the main threat.

Building heat and humidity mid to late week will bring the chance for showers and storms back to the region. Strong straight line winds will be primary threat Wednesday through Friday afternoon and evening.

A new day is ahead across the state; our weather will change somewhat. Happy Wednesday, North Carolina! We will start off the day pretty quiet for most of the state, a couple isolated showers/storms can't be ruled out of the NW part of the state. Partly sunny skies are expected for most of the state from late this morning through the afternoon and evening. We will watch for a system that could spark some showers and thunderstorms, mainly moving from NW to SE. A few scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible across the mountains and foothills and then into Central and Eastern NC through the afternoon and evening. Coverage looks hit or miss, so not everyone will see stuff, but we will keep an eye out. Some bursts of heavy rainfall and gusty winds are possible with any storms that occur. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s west, with 80s and low 90s east.
