One of the most important elements that determine the performance of a parking lot is how the water is controlled. Water can be controlled in just two ways. It can runoff the edge of the asphalt into a ditch and/or grass or the water can be directed towards a catch basin. Catch basins are open-grated manholes that have a collector known as a croc. Usually, a pipe is cored into the side of the catch basin where the water escapes and is directed to a bigger storm water system, ditch, or retention pond.

We know it’s officially Spring at City Sealcoating when we are back to work at Harvard!

We recently touched up the University’s pavement markings. Line striping is not only essential for safety and traffic management, it contributes to the beautification of a site.

Nowhere is this more important than at Harvard University, which accommodates significant pedestrian traffic throughout a campus defined by exquisite landscaping and historical architecture.
