Inishowen Farms You are all welcome to enjoy the fresh air and open areas of our sales yard. Inishowen Farms is owned and operated by Mark & Tammy Doherty.

We grow our perennials without the benefit of man-made heat. In other words, some of the cuttings begin life inside one of our two greenhouses but are only heated by the warmth of the sun. These plants are moved outdoors at the earliest possible time, to be sure they are cold-toughened and ready for your garden.

Creeping Mother of Thyme
Creeping mother of thyme is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial ground cover that forms a dense, carpet-like green cushion. Grows very low to the ground, usually standing only 2 to 4 inches tall (though some varieties or un-sheared plants can reach up to 6 inches). Spreads horizontally by rooting along trailing stems to form a wide, dense mat that can span 12 to 18 inches or more. The crushed foliage releases a strong, pleasant herbal and mint-like scent.
