With the temperature being well below freezing here are some tips on preventing frozen pipes.
1- keep the heat above 60 in your house
2- shut-off all outside facets and take garden hoses off
3- keep garage door closed
4- know where the main shut-off is just in case something does happen
5- if you know you have pipes that do freeze let the water run from the facet to keep the water moving
Frozen pipes can cost thousands of dollars in damage. Following the tips can help keep you and you family warm and dry.
