Today, the Turtle Mountain community celebrates with a Ground Blessing Ceremony for the new Belcourt Emergency Response Center, a thoughtfully designed facility that will serve as a hub for emergency response, training, and personnel wellness.
Brunton designed the 27,500-square-foot center to balance operational efficiency with the needs of the Belcourt Rural Fire Department. Its 14 apparatus bays provide secure and organized space for emergency vehicles, while dedicated training areas support ongoing professional development and emergency preparedness.
The design also prioritizes the health and well-being of first responders through fitness facilities, specialized turnout gear and SCBA rooms, and comfortable crew quarters featuring a kitchen, day room, outdoor patio, and six bunk rooms for extended shifts. Administrative and support spaces are strategically integrated to enhance coordination, communication, and response readiness.
More than a building, the Belcourt Emergency Response Center represents a forward-thinking investment in public safety infrastructure—creating a modern, functional, and resilient environment that will support emergency services and the Turtle Mountain community for years to come.
