This is the truth and ppl just don’t understand!
People often ask me why their custom hardscape project is so expensive when they get their estimates. Well... let's pretend you take on the project yourself for a minute. First, go out and rent 200k worth of equipment to complete your project for a minimum of 2-3 weeks and then purchase the fuel to operate it and the insurance to protect it, purchase the materials, pay for them to be delivered, dispose of the excavated materials and excess debris, cover yourself and your friends with workers compensation insurance, pay yourself and your friends a reasonable wage for their help, send a check to Uncle Sam for atleast 20-30% of the project cost and you'll start to understand why it's soo darn expensive to install your hardscape. This doesn't take into account the 20+ years of experience that made it possible to get the project done in 2-3 weeks either. It takes alot of resources and alot more zeros on the final invoice to build anything worthwhile these days! It pays to invest in a quality contractor that most likely won't be the least expensive because they understand the cost of doing business and what it takes to stay in business year after year.
