If you’re considering pruning your trees this fall, it’s important to do so with good reason because each cut can affect how the tree grows. Pruning can take place year-round for most species, but it can maximize wound closure when done right before spring growth. Pruning broken, diseased, dying and dead branches to the outside of the branch collar can be done any time of the year.

It is important to paint any pruning cuts on all oak trees to help prevent the spread of oak wilt, however, it is not necessary on any other species.

Young trees that are pruned properly will need less corrective pruning when they are older, as it creates a strong structure and form.

Mature trees are often pruned to fix problems or prevent them by removing dead branches, improving the tree’s structure, reducing risk, and helping light reach the inside of the tree and ground below.

I saw the good and bad side of people today.
The good.. People coming together to help each other, Neighbors helping neighbors.
The Bad... People taking advantage of people because they can't do for themselves or were in a hard spot.
Some companies were bidding at 2 or 3 times the regular rate. Idiots that bought a chainsaw at the pawn shop and are now "tree guys", Dangerous and unethical. It gives the rest of us a bad name...
