Here are some pictures of a road I repaired on a steep hill. I added swales and graded the base to allow for proper drainage. I hauled in several loads of ABC and crowned the road to keep water off and prevent erosion. The last picture shows how well a properly built gravel road can hold up to heavy rain since the road was completed just before the remnants of Hurricane Ian arrived and showed no damage after all of the rain that we received. I had a fun and challenging little project this week. I have completed a couple of projects on this property already and was asked to install a pad for a camper that will serve as a parking area for a future cabin in the woods. Trees were cut prior to my arrival but I removed several stumps and graded the area to prep it for the Geo textile road fabric. I added a heavy base of ABC and topped with clean stone.
