A couple weeks ago, I shared something that has been sitting heavy on all of our hearts.

Since then, so many of you have reached out… checking in, asking about Tim, and asking the same question over and over…

“How can we help?”

I’ve gone back and forth on this part, because if you know Tim… you know this is exactly what he would never want. The attention. People talking about him. Asking for help. That’s just not who he is. But if you know us, we are here to help our community anyway we can.

But he gave us his blessing to share this… and to show up for him in this way.

Tim is the one who quietly shows up. The one who builds it, fixes it, figures it out… and then steps back like it was nothing. No credit. No spotlight. Just steady, constant, there. For years. And now he’s walking through something that none of us can take off his shoulders.

So we’re doing the only thing we can.

We’re showing up for him the same way he’s always shown up for us.

We created a GoFundMe to help ease some of the weight he and Kristen are carrying right now… the medical bills, the travel, the time away from work, all the things that come with something like this. We are also accepting cash donations at our shop.

Because the truth is… he should only be focused on one thing.

Getting through this.

If you feel it in your heart to give, we are so incredibly grateful. If you can’t, sharing this means more than you know.
And if nothing else, please keep him in your prayers.

We’ll be sharing a few more ways to support him in the coming days.

I’m writing a post today that I have not wanted to write.

The kind that brings tears before the words even make it to the screen. The kind filled with emotion I haven’t fully had the space to process yet. I think part of me believed that the longer I put this off, the less real it would feel. But deep down, I know that isn’t true.

I made a promise to be as transparent with you as I can, and while this is hard to share, it feels just as important. This will be long. It may ramble. But I ask that you stay with me and read to the end.

Seven years ago, I happened to meet a man who would forever change the course of my life and this business.

Tim is a man of few words. He stands firm in his faith and his personal beliefs. He is disciplined, intimidating in the best way, private, and the kind of “get it done come hell or high water” soul you don’t come across often. He has this incredible ability to take my wild, scattered ideas and quietly bring them to life. He is the yin to my business yang.

Over the last seven years, Tim has grown from a coworker into family.

He has been with our business since day one. Always behind the scenes. Building wooden backdrop walls that can be taken apart and reassembled again and again. Constructing and painting kitchen cabinets and furniture. Figuring out how to turn something like conversation hearts or shamrocks from a passing idea into something real you can see and touch.

Tim is woven into every inch of our building. And if you didn’t know that, it’s because he prefers it that way. He wants no spotlight, no recognition. This man doesn’t even have social media.

In addition to being the quiet backbone of so much of what we do, Tim is also a veteran, newly engaged, a father, a grandfather, and a stage four melanoma survivor who was first diagnosed fourteen years ago.

And now comes the part that is hardest to write.

During recent testing, doctors discovered a mass on Tim’s brain. It has since been identified as a meningioma. Tim and his incredible fiancée, Kristen, have been working closely with the Cleveland Clinic to ensure he is receiving the best possible care. He has already undergone a brain biopsy so doctors can determine the grade of the tumor and what his radiation treatment plan will look like moving forward.

As you can imagine, this is an emotional and overwhelming time for Tim, for his family, and for his family here at 36 Eleven.

Our biggest concern is simple. We want Tim healthy. We want him supported. We want him to have everything he needs to focus on fighting through this.

With mounting medical costs, hotel stays, and the many unseen expenses that come with something like this, our team has come together to find ways we can support Tim the same way he has shown up for us for so many years.

I’m sharing this not out of obligation, but because this story matters. Tim matters. Over the next week, I will be sharing a few ways you can help support him if you feel called to do so. Nothing is ever expected, but every bit of love, prayer, and support means more than I can put into words.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Truly.

✨ Fireplace Refinish ✨
This is the fireplace, just transformed with a little vision, paint, and love from our team. The wood finish had its charm, but the painted update really brightened and modernized the space.

We love giving new life to pieces like this, and it’s always amazing to see how a simple refinish can completely change the feel of a room.

If you’ve missed seeing kitchen transformations on your feed, here’s a good one to bring us back. 👀

This kitchen went from warm wood tones to a bright, fresh, completely reimagined space. Antique Villa cabinets with a Poseidon peninsula. New life. New look. Same cabinets. 💡

At 36 Eleven, we’ve been transforming kitchens, furniture, and entire spaces for over 5 years — helping you create something beautiful for a fraction of the cost of buying new.

If you’ve been dreaming of a kitchen refresh (or if you’re tired of staring at the same dated cabinets while you make coffee ☕), now is the time.

This one’s for our roots.

What started as a DIY and furniture shop has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of and this year, 36 Eleven is nominated in FIVE categories for the 2025 Firelands Best of the Best Awards.

✨ Nominated for:
🖤 Furniture Shop
🖤 Home Improvement Company
🖤 Interior Design
🖤 Paint Store
🖤 Hardware Store

This space is where the vision began and it’s where we still roll up our sleeves, build by hand, brainstorm your next room and furniture refresh, and mix up that perfect paint color.

You can vote once per day through August 19, and every single click helps small businesses like ours grow and thrive.

🗳️ Vote here: https://sanduskyregister.com/live-content/best-2025/ #

💥 And while you’re there, don’t forget to scroll down and vote The Loft at 36 Eleven, nominated for Best Locally Owned Apparel Store. She’s the sassier one, but we love her just the same.

Thank you for believing in both sides of what we do. This community makes it all possible, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
