Poor record keeping and apparent fixation on certain color patterns always gets me in a little trouble. Maybe trouble isn't the right word. What do you call it when you have multiple varieties so close in pattern and color that you cant choose which one to keep so you just keep both? Is crazy the right word?

P.S. High Desert is one of the best garden iris in my collection. Excellent substance, long bloom time, vibrant colors that dont fade. One of the my favorites from Keith Keppel

Here's a good example of how hard it is to but a name back on an iris once it becomes a NOID. Its also a great example of why you should never name an iris based on photos alone. You need to grow the noid and a named iris side by side to be sure they are the same.

Here's a cool thing about watching iris bloom. We had some abnormally cold weather this spring (even for Minnesota). As a result many of my earlier bloomers were very purple this year. So much so that I even questioned the ID on one!
