Courtney Miller of Ecobuild Architects had the opportunity to meet Jason Carter of California Aesthetics, Inc. builders of a whole house, second story addition that's proceeding apace in the Montclair Hills. After building a reputation for providing exceptional residential design accompanied with expedited permit approvals, we were invited to design another Oakland two-story addition which passed with flying colors, allowing it to proceed into construction earlier than anticipated. The new primary bedroom where Jason and Courtney are standing takes advantage of breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Declan Spring, Realtor with the Home Factor joined Courtney Miller, Principal of Ecobuild Architects at their Hayward Hills net-zero energy (NZE) home currently under construction. This 3,000 sq ft 3 Bedroom with study/ 3.5 Bath home is designed on two levels spilling down to a lower bedroom/ living level facing north.

Tesla's proprietary black monocrystalline solar panels will power electric cars, heat pump water heater, and heat pump air-handler heating/cooling system.

Ecobuild Architects was delighted to take on the challenge of a Whole House / Second Story Addition for a Classic Arts & Crafts Bungalow in the beautiful Glenview Neighborhood of Oakland. The solution included a skillfully inserted new stair to the second floor primary bedroom and bath, and office with clerestory windows looking back over the front roof to the historic bungalow homes across the street. Interior design included new kitchen, primary bath, and first floor bath.

We’re excited to share a progress update on an entry and façade redesign for a classic one-story ranch home in the South Bay that will include drought tolerant/ native landscaping. Our mission that we decided to accept, is to create a new sense of arrival, punctuated with skylights over a grand entry foyer with beautiful textures along the way to create a new welcoming experience every time you arrive home.

We built an in-law that includes an elevator and moving the placement of doors, windows, and plumbing. Great review from mona A.... "Courtney Miller did our plans and design for our second-story addition and kitchen and bath remodel. The first time we met him at our house he had already had a vision where to put the stairs and had a lot of creative ideas flowing. Those ideas were put into the plans and once we saw they were completed in a timely manner we were so thrilled, he did a great job! The city of Oakland approved the plans with no issues which is cost efficient. Courtney is very professional, a very nice person, and knowledgeable and does his job excellently, and all his referrals were just as professional and diligent as he was. What I really appreciated was that Courtney was easy to get in contact with he got back to you in a timely manner. It was a pleasure working with Courtney."

Thanks to the superb design and engineering of Ecobuild Architects on a classic Victorian renovation in West Oakland, the owners were able to realize a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, one-car garage project on two levels with a well-appointed master suite looking out over an inviting rear terrace. The flow of the rooms capitalized on the existing home's high ceilings to create a spacious living experience throughout. Though the lower level and garage are submerged 18 inches as a part of the new foundation and drainage system, there's no sense that you are below grade.
