For our Overseas Highway project in Islamorada, Florida, the living room was designed to embrace the relaxed elegance of island life 🪸🌊

Floor-to-ceiling glass walls showcase the breathtaking ocean views while flooding the interior with natural light and creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. Inside, the palette takes its cues from the Florida Keys with crisp whites, shades of blue, warm natural wood, woven textures, and coastal details. The open-concept living space was created with entertaining in mind, while still feeling comfortable enough for everyday island living.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned as a woman in business is that you can spend years waiting to feel completely ready. At some point, you simply have to trust what you know, take the first step, and give yourself room to grow.

If there’s a business you’ve been dreaming about, a creative career you want to pursue, or a new path you’ve been afraid to take, you don’t need to know exactly where it will lead before you begin.

If I could go back 25 years to when I first started my career in interior design, I thought experience would come quickly and confidence would follow.

What I’ve learned is that the best lessons come from the projects that challenge you, the clients who trust you, the mistakes that make you better, and the years spent refining your eye. Looking back, I wouldn’t change my journey. Every project, every conversation, and every home has helped shaped the designer I am today.

If you’re just beginning your career, whether it’s in interior design or something completely different, give yourself permission to grow. You don’t have to have all the answers on day one. Keep learning, trust your instincts, and remember that your best work is still ahead of you.
