Have you ever wondered how a countertop is installed? Take a look at this recent install we had completed! The countertop is delivered in pieces, and then lined up and glued down to the cabinets.

When having a countertop installed, there are a few important things you must do before. ❗First, you need to ensure that your cabinets are installed permanently. This ensures that the measurements taken by the installer will not differ by the time the counter is ready to be installed, which creates a perfect fit. ‼️Second, the wall behind the countertop must be finished, and any backsplash is removed, if possible. This is because when measurements are made, the counter will be cut to fit the exact pattern of your wall, and if there are items on the wall that need repairing or aren't smooth, this can cause the countertop measurement to be off. 🏁Lastly, make sure that all your cabinets are level. Because you are placing a big piece of material over that surface, if there are any height differences in the cabinets, the countertop will not sit flat, and could put the material at risk of breakage.

One of the steps in our remediation process is to encapsulate the affected area with a sealant. The white paint on the floor shown in the first picture is actually a mold encapsulant we use. It creates a barrier against mold and inhibits growth. This was applied to the entire house for this project. Application needs depend on the situation in your home. 🔨

You can also see the hidden damage we uncovered from mold. The entire ceiling in the bathroom came down, due to a leak in the roof vent. This just shows you never know the extent of mold damage until you start looking. 🧐
