I’m sorry! I have been lousy at taking pictures and posting what I’m up to 😕

This little cabinet is pine, and was a distressed blue when I got it. The knots bled through and it was just generally not good 😜 It might have been one of those “unpainted furniture” pieces that someone did themselves? It’s assembled with staples and the inside was very bright fresh wood color. There were spots they completely missed with paint. Oh, and the back was a hardboard but the inside was the weirdly textured side that grabbed onto all kinds if bright pink fuzz or feathers from a previous owner 😂

I sanded it down and knew I wanted to cut a new back and make that fresh wood look aged by toning it down. I pulled out an old favorite- my Rust Oleum antiquing glaze for chalk paint. It worked great and toned the wood down perfectly!

I painted it a green (surprise! 😂) called Weeping Willow by Dixie Belle.
One reason I picked that particular color - because I should have just enough in the jar to do this piece so it clears space on my paint shelf 😂 and I will say I had JUST enough! I knew I was going to distress so I only needed one thin coat.

I then distress sanded it to allow just a tiny bit of blue to show along with some bare wood. Then I used the same glaze all over and it deepened that paint color and gave it more depth and yum!

I should be able to seal it tomorrow but really wanted to post today 😁

I went out to work on the garage today and intended to just sand this little cutie but once I started I decided to just finish it!

The stumpy little legs had to go and I was SO happy to have the perfect replacements! These came from my dad’s stash and I’m so happy to have finally found the right piece for them 🥰

I am waiting for the backs to dry so I can put it all back together tomorrow but I L O V E it!

I picked one up yesterday and can’t wait to play 😁

Today’s rescue:

This adorable vintage nightstand 😁

It was cute enough before but unpainted vintage wood furniture is a tough sell 😔 so it got a makeover with Fusion mineral paint in the color Acadia Pear.
The lighting in the garage isn’t the greatest but yes it’s green 🤭

This is another cookie jar I saw today and passed it up. There were actually 2 of them with the face paint worn off different areas on each.

I may or may not need an intervention 😂

Yesterday I went to meet a woman to pick up something I bought from marketplace for myself. Well wouldn’t you know it, there was a Goodwill like 3 doors down in the strip mall so of course I ran in for a couple minutes till it was time to meet her.

I saw this cute vintage puppy cookie jar and said no it’s big and bulky, it’s breakable, it’s not something I need for my booth… so I left it.

And of course I thought about it. all. night. long.

Yes. I was there at 9 when they opened today and it was still there! 🎉
It’s got a small chip on the lid which was a major bummer but I said oh well it’s still cute I can use it for dog treats 😁

I found some other things while I was there, then hit up my 2 favorite Goodwills plus a Restore. I came home with a bunch of goodies to remake or upcycle, and a bunch of things that I’ll be keeping for myself 🤪
