Our Little Green Farmhouse

Our Little Green Farmhouse Our Little Green Farmhouse is our personal journey of creating, building & rehabbing our 1800's home. It's a labor of love that my hubby & I share.

My little kitchen potager got some amended soil in my raised gardens and galvanized containers. Got in my herbs & veggies just in time for the incoming rain showers. Feels good to be in the dirt. Now to w**d the rest of my beds & get my ferns under control. 🤪

So it’s been a distracted Spring with house projects not really getting done (except for painting the dining room which we will be redoing because we don’t like the new color 😜). I’m excited to say this is something I’ve wanted for probably as long as we’ve lived in this house 16+ years. The fun thing is the ceiling tiles are salvaged from a job my hubby is working on and are pretty close to the age of our home. Couple that with a pesky chimney that needs to come down and some water damage on the plaster ceiling...it’s a perfect match. I’m excited to see how this turns out. 💕

Spring is finally here (kinda). No sun and in the 30’s isn’t exactly what I like to think as Spring but I’ll take the above zero temps and melted snow. Now the ravages of a harsh winter are showing. To say my yard and gardens are in shock is an understatement. Time to get busy and wake up the slumbering grounds and get them ready to sing. These little clay pots are screaming for companions. Time to get all those day dreaming plans from this winter into play. @ Oconomowoc, Wisconsin

Hubby is tinkering. I love the bottom. As he says...”One more place for you to decorate”. Yep he gets me. 😂

Father & Son collaboration on a custom desk for his bedroom. Base still needs to be finished but it’s coming together pretty well. Love it.

Sorry it’s been a crazy year. Haven’t posted in forever. Hubby’s latest project. Salvaged antique bed turned into a bench. Just waiting to decide on what color to paint it. Keep your eyes out for final product.

Hubby built this beautiful herringbone style coffee table with some salvaged cedar planks. I love the way it's coming together. Now just to paint the base and seal the top.

Hubby just amazes me. Beautiful salvaged cast iron base with a new gorgeous 3.5' x 6' or 8' with the leaf top. Stained in a dark walnut. Who's going to be the proud owner of this beauty? Can't wait to stage it and get it sold.

Just sharing the cute little bench that hubby made from a beautiful piece of cherry wood that was from a tree that fell at his cousins farm. The wonderful architectural salvaged legs are from an antique flea market we went to last summer. I love the raw look of just the simple lines. The true beauty is the wood.
