The Miniature Zebu is an ancient, naturally miniature breed of hu**ed cattle and the world's oldest established cow breed. Unlike many other modern miniature livestock that were selectively bred down from standard sizes, the Miniature Zebu's small frame is completely natural and dates back as far as 3000 to 6000 BC.

The breed natively traces its lineage to Southern India, Sri Lanka, and East Africa, where they were historically used as draft animals, family milk cows, and even kept on sacred temple grounds.

They first arrived in the United States in 1893 for the Chicago World's Fair and were later imported to American zoological gardens in the 1920s.

On homesteads today they are useful pets, as brush-clearers, producers of high-butterfat milk (4% to 5%) and a great source of lean beef.

There’s no fat or water leftover to drain when you cook it like store bought beef. We love that these at small enough to process at home. Meaning, we always know exactly what we are eating.

I plan on getting as much pool time as I still can!

I go for a dip almost every morning. There’s no better way to cool off after chores! But, it was chilly today after the rain we’ve been getting.
