We see this in Ogden homes all the time: keypads where three or four numbers are worn down, shiny, or faded while the others look brand new.

If someone is standing at your door, it doesn’t take much to figure out which numbers you’re pressing. It’s a security risk that most people completely overlook.

The wear pattern on your keypad is basically a map to your home.

Simple fix: Change your code every few months to even out the wear on the buttons.

Better fix: Upgrade to a modern DSC PK5500 keypad. They are built to last and are much harder to "read" from a distance.
