This is one of the most important parts of the entire bathroom—
and most people will never see it.
The shower base has to be built and sloped correctly so water flows exactly where it should.
From there, everything is properly waterproofed—both the floor and walls—before anything else moves forward.
We also flood test the shower base to make sure there are zero leaks before tile is installed.
Outside of the shower, we make sure the floors are properly leveled so the tile installs flat and clean—without lippage.
We also install an uncoupling membrane or cement board to create a solid, stable surface and prevent future cracking.
If this step is rushed or done wrong, it can lead to leaks, uneven tile, and expensive problems down the road.
We take the time to do it right from the start—no shortcuts.
Because what’s underneath the tile matters just as much as the finished look.
Next up: tile.
