Treating y’all to a little Friday surprise with a new painting drop fresh off the easel! Anyone who’s ever worked cows in Florida knows this is as real deal as it gets. Original 24x36 oil on canvas framed in reclaimed cypress cow pen lumber.

Here’s the catch… it’s yet to be named so we’d like all of you to chime in with your suggestions. Drop your best ideas in the comments now!

Busy with speaking events, commissioned paintings I can’t post publicly, and a variety of other projects, I’ve neglected my social media for a few months but I hope you’ll enjoy this cow skull that was commissioned for a recent local graduate.

I’ve been busy finishing up a backlog of commissions for the past several months and have finally wrapped them up. One of those I’ll be able to reveal next Monday once I’ve delivered and unveiled it for the organization who purchased it. Meanwhile, this landscape is fresh off the easel and something that I could share with everyone right now. The remainder of this year will be spent working on more general landscapes like this so as to build up some original painting inventory available for purchase and working on new Seminole themed art for the Brighton Field Day Festival in February.

Between ranch work and multiple other ongoing projects, I’ve not had time to share any new paintings in quite some time. This painting of Mrs. Josephine Huff is fresh off the easel and will be going to the family very soon. The very subtle color variations in the bias tape were fun to capture and the background or base fabric featuring a pattern of corn on the cob tested my patience, lol. All in all, it was a pleasure and indeed an honor to capture her likeness on canvas.

Thanks to the fine folks of Quincy and Gadsden County for having me as a presenter Saturday for their Opening Day program. If you’re in the area, be sure to get by and visit while the exhibit is running. The Gadsden Art Center and Museum is well worth the trip!

*Update* “Cypress Harem” at 2️⃣7️⃣5️⃣ is sold

With Spring Turkey season kicking off tomorrow morning across much of Florida, it seemed like the perfect time to share these two prints framed up and ready to hang on someone’s wall. First come, first served basis, drop a comment or send a DM. Take one or take the pair.

Okay folks, here’s the full reveal after I teased everyone last week. “Under Sweetgrass Skies” is a 24x36 original oil on canvas. It sold immediately here in the first few hours on opening morning at Brighton Field Day Festival, but we will have prints available for those interested. I’m grateful for the ability to represent Old Florida and the cultures that make her so special. And thanks to all of you for the continued support!
