In other news….photos of my home were recently stolen, put into an AI app with a few “tweaks”, and then used by the account “acardesigns” without crediting me. It’s incredibly frustrating and just downright wrong!! Especially when my home has been something I’ve poured years of creativity, work, and a whole lot of myself into. Using someone’s photos and changing a few things through AI doesn’t make it your design. practically has no repercussions to accts that choose to operate in this fashion. It’s just not cool and completely violating. I reached out to this acct to ask them to credit me and with no avail they blocked me. 🙃 Cowards.

But here’s the thing I keep coming back to…

People can duplicate what you do, but they can’t replicate who you are. They can’t copy your eye or creativity.

Some pieces are vintage. Some are thrifted. A few from artists I’ve met on this platform. Some I bought simply because they made me feel something. And absolutely none of them were chosen because they “matched.”

I think that’s what I love most about collecting art….your walls slowly become a scrapbook of your life, your taste, your travels, your little obsessions and all the things you couldn’t stop thinking about.
