I've been seeing some ridiculous THC numbers on testing lately that just seem impossible. My suspicions of anything over 30% were correct. Check out the article from Oaksterdam about why the lab results just aren't true.

Cannabis flower is showing up with higher and higher levels of THC. As more states legalize cannabis and growers compete to maximize potency, cultivars with 30 percent THC or more are becoming more common.
Topping them all, strains of cannabis have recently cropped up in the news hitting 45 percent THC.
Is that even possible?
“No”, says Oaksterdam University’s Anthony DeMeo.
“Flower that tested at 45 percent THC or total cannabinoids by mass, that is just unfeasible,” says DeMeo, co-chair of OU’s Commercial Extraction and Manufacturing department. “Even the flower that’s testing at 30 percent should still be an oddity, but in legal markets, it’s becoming more and more prominent.”

Cannabis flower is testing at higher and potency levels. Experts think faulty lab testing is to blame.

I went to my first Cannabis Action Network meeting in Athens, GA in 1994. This meeting was where I met Chip and my understanding of cannabis was blown wide open. Back then it was only a dream to think that the casualness of cannabis conversation and consumption would be what it is today. Would I have believed that almost thirty years later I would be voting to legalize w**d in Oklahoma?! I prefer decriminalization over legalization but the time to free the w**d is now! We are in the middle of moving our commercial clone nursery outside of OKC. It’s going to take a minute to get our mom numbers back up but we kept around 20 of our top cultivars. We were up to 40 different strains but we just can’t keep them all. We’ve also got some new ones coming up that are quickly becoming our favorites. Stay tuned.

Since selling Royal Gold, he started Growers Soil in a state of the art , manufacturing facility outside of Denver, CO to insure pest-free products with the cheapest transportation across the US. Chip opened Cultivate Colorado, a large commercial grow supply store in 2009 in Denver and has recently opened Cultivate Garden Supply in OKC. Chip's obsession is evident in his knowledge and passion for all things cannabis.
