METAL ROOF MONDAY

Would you go this bold?

Copper Metallic has officially become one of our metal roofer’s top-selling colors, and it’s easy to see why once you see it on a roof. It makes a statement without looking overdone and completely changes the character of a home.

This one is still in progress, but that copper is already stealing the show.

Metal roofing doesn’t have to mean gray, black, or silver. There are a LOT more options than most homeowners realize. If you’ve been considering metal, we’d love to show you what’s possible for your home.

Love a good Malarkey Vista upgrade.

Can’t decide between shingles and metal? You don’t have to.

One of our favorite looks is pairing shingles with standing seam metal accents over porches, dormers or other roof sections.

You get the classic look of shingles with just enough metal to add contrast and make the home stand out.

Sometimes a little metal goes a long way.

This is why we always say the pretty “after” is only part of the story.

This roof had visible damage that needed attention, but replacing a roof is about so much more than putting new shingles over the top.

Our crew removed the old roofing system, got everything down to the decking, addressed what needed to be addressed underneath, and built it back up the right way.

The end result? A beautiful new roof and, more importantly, a roofing system this homeowner can feel confident in for years to come.

METAL ROOF MYTH MONDAY

MYTH: “Metal roofs are really loud when it rains.”

FACT: On a properly installed residential metal roof, your roof decking, underlayment, insulation and attic space all help reduce outside noise. It’s definitely not the tin-roof-in-a-barn experience people picture.

A little before & after for your feed.

This homeowner chose Malarkey Vista Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in Sienna Blend, and we love how the warmer tones complement the brick and stone on this home.

Metal Roof Monday

“But isn’t a metal roof REALLY loud when it rains?”

We hear this one a lot, and we know exactly what people are picturing. Rain pouring down on an old tin barn.

A residential metal roof installed over a proper roofing system is a completely different situation. Your roof has decking, underlayment, insulation and the rest of your home’s construction between you and the metal. You’re not sitting directly underneath a bare sheet of metal listening to every raindrop hit it.

Will every house sound exactly the same? Of course not. Construction and insulation can make a difference. But the idea that having a metal roof means you’ll be sitting inside listening to deafening rain every time an Oklahoma storm rolls through is definitely one myth we can put to rest.

So if noise has been the reason you’ve crossed metal off your list, don’t let that be the deciding factor.

Now THAT is a roof upgrade.

This home got the full treatment with Malarkey Class 4 impact-resistant shingles in Brilliant Black, new standing seam metal over the front porch and dormers, plus new gutters and downspouts.
We love when a project doesn’t just protect the home better, but completely changes the look of it too. This one turned out SO good. Project managed by our very own Joshua Greninger!

Metal Roof Monday

When you’re comparing shingles and metal, it’s easy to look at one thing first. The price.

But there’s another part of the conversation that matters too. How long do you want this roof to last?

A properly installed metal roof can have a much longer service life than a traditional asphalt shingle roof. That’s one of the biggest reasons homeowners who plan on staying in their home long term start looking at metal.

There are other benefits too. Metal is low maintenance, handles Oklahoma weather well when the right system is installed, and you get a completely different look than a traditional shingle roof.

It definitely isn’t the right choice for every homeowner, but if you’re planning to be in your home for a long time, it’s worth looking at the bigger picture instead of just comparing the initial price.

Sometimes the better question isn’t just “What does it cost?”

It’s “What am I getting for that investment?”
