Shortcut Auto by Happy Valley Genetics -- and the lineage tells you exactly what they were trying to accomplish: Pineapple Runtz x Pineapple Runtz.
That's not a typo. Both parents are Pineapple Runtz. What Happy Valley did is take Ethos Genetics' Pineapple Runtz (Pineapple x Runtz), reverse a female to produce pollen, and pollinate a clone of itself. The S1 selfing technique. The whole point is to lock in a specific phenotype expression in seed form -- as close to growing a clone of that original Pineapple Runtz keeper as you can get without an actual cutting.
What makes this version interesting is they took it further. After producing the S1, Happy Valley converted it into an autoflower line. That's a multi-step breeding project: first the photoperiod selfing to capture the keeper phenotype, then crossing into ruderalis genetics and stabilizing through generations of inbreeding to produce a stable autoflowering version. Most autoflower strains lose terpene complexity in that conversion process -- the ruderalis backcrossing dilutes the original profile -- but Happy Valley targeted the S1 specifically so they had concentrated genetics to work with.
The parent material matters here. Ethos's Pineapple Runtz brings tropical-fruit terps from the Pineapple side and the Zkittlez x Gelato candy backbone from Runtz. The S1 keeper was selected for tropical-pineapple-forward expression. The auto version finishes in 8-10 weeks with 18-22% THC -- modern auto numbers that would have been considered impossible from autoflower genetics 15 years ago.
