Aerial roots are roots that may grow on the above-ground parts of your succulent. Aerial roots can function as anchors, latching on to nearby supporting structures such as trellises, rocks, and walls for climbing plants. Certain types of aerial roots will also absorb moisture along with nutrients, just as the underground roots do routinely.
