240 mile round trip last night! Customer was from out of state, lost their keys at the Kalaloch Campground near Forks. Nobody local could help with the 2024 Toyota Rav4 and they considered a tow to the dealer. Even the thought hurts. Another camper had StarLink at the site so I could actually get the job done. Lucky, and very grateful for their kindness.

I will take that drive again up towards Forks, it was fun. I just dont think a medium roof Ford Transit would be my vehicle of choice for that journey!

Moving forward, I will be recommending only OEM keys to everyone, except in very select vehicle cases where I have never had an aftermarket failure. My warranty structure will be severely altered for aftermarket parts: 30 days, you come to me for replacement, no exceptions. This will hurt my business even more, but I can't afford to keep doing several 80 mile round trips to make $90 in profit, as that also will put me out of business. I have done at least 100 of such trips in the last year. It is very apparent the aftermarket QC issues continually get worse. Also, customer deserves a product that will work reliably. Things have already been tight this year, and the customer is very price sensitive. However, I cant keep footing the bill for bad manufacturing that has nothing to do with my quality of work, and my customers deserve to not be inconvenienced by failure. Shop owners know exactly what I am talking about. Add this to the mix: I am cheaper than quotes I received over 10 years ago, and people still balk at the price. I am trying to stay in business while protecting my customers. Thank you for understanding.

All keys lost on a 2014 Ford Fusion today.
Cant program keys with an active alarm.
Unbolted BCM and took a peak back there to get the keypad code to disarm the alarm. Some people use dental mirrors, but a photo is fine, i use verbal commands to take a photo when camera is in place.

Cut and programmed keys successfully.
