From the Desk of Mrs. Sheelytown
This Saturday, we open the gates for our first outdoor market of the season, and honestly, I can’t think of a better reason to gather than this.
For the Moms Market was built to celebrate mothers in all their forms. The ones raising babies, raising teenagers, raising communities, raising themselves again after hard seasons. The ones grieving, healing, showing up tired, showing up joyful, showing up anyway. The caretakers. The nurturers. The bonus moms. The chosen moms. The women who somehow continue pouring love into the world, even when the world hasn’t always poured love back into them.
Motherhood is complicated. Beautiful. Exhausting. Tender. Loud. Lonely. Sacred.
This market is our small offering back.
On Saturday, Sheelytown will be filled with thoughtful gifts, handmade goods, fresh air, creativity, and little pockets of rest. We’ll have a photo station for capturing memories, craft stations for making something heartfelt, self-care spaces designed for slowing down, and an incredible lineup of local makers offering gifts that feel personal and full of intention.
But more than anything, I hope this feels like permission.
Permission to linger.
Permission to be cared for.
Permission to stop performing for a little while and simply exist.
Whether you come shopping for your mom, celebrating yourself, honoring someone you miss, or just looking for a soft place to land for an afternoon, we’d love to have you with us.
Thank you for continuing to make Sheelytown Market what it is. A neighborhood ecosystem where plants, creativity, and gathering help people feel more connected to themselves, their spaces, and each other.
We’ll see you Saturday.
With love,
Mrs. Sheelytown
