Tight little attic we did. Went from 3" of rockwool to 17" of cellulose. After we air sealed, blocked and baffled the soffit space and applied a total of 17" of cellulose we are at an R-60. The homeowner is thrilled, and was able to notice a difference before we ven finished.

This attic was a mess. We retrofitted the entire house. Air seal, block and baffle soffit spaces, cathedral ceiling blocked, and insulated to an R-49. Air sealing your attic space will keep hot humid air in your home and not in your attic in the winter. Humidity in an attic can absolutely cause a ton of issues. Damp Inteior walls usually occur when the frost melts and runs down to the top of the inside of the exterior walls. Typically where the roofline meets the top plate.
