I have the most talented friends! Forest Finds Candle & Soap Co. creates from scratch the most amazing scents and products with clean ingredients. I am in love with the “Sugar, Sugar” body butter and the “Hot Toddy” candle is my favorite so far and it burns so clean! I was so happy to help paint an advertisement piece of art for them to use when they take their show on the road. Find them…follow them and definitely try their products!

Getting creative is my jam! Being asked to create a convincing faux marble is no easy task, but challenge accepted. This downtown high-rise now sports a statement piece of red marble paneling as you enter the threshold, further blending traditional and modern elements together. A nod to Chris in his journey to bring back to the Orpheum Tower a feeling of old world charm and dignity.

Return of the Home Office!

When I get into my truck and it tells me it is 3 degrees outside...3 😒, I do my best to find something else to think about. If you are among the many that have found themselves suddenly working from home, why not love the space around you? Individualize like you could never do in an office space! Forget that potted plant and family photo, get creative! Thank you Melissa for letting me have a little fun making a really cool space. (And I am jealous of the 1 minute very cozy walk to the office😜)

Small...and I mean small businesses must support each other!

I can't even begin to describe the skills that Dale Hermann brings to the present void of good contractors taking up old crafts. He has a solid background working with concrete and has stepped out in a most needed way. I am posing the best possible pictures of his recent work with venetian plater, and trust me...they do NOT do it justice, but I tried.

Renovation Madness!

So many thanks to One 11 Construction (Dan and Tim are rock stars!) for partnering up with me to renovate my space. Projects like this are so rewarding yet time and mind consuming to say the least! But oh what fun I had bringing the 1920 beauty back...with a few modern twists!

Continuing on the path of “Refinishing rather than Replacing “, this was a fantastic transformation in cooperation with One11Construction. After they replaced the spindles, I chose a gel stain by General Finishes to give their entryway the old world feel Audri and Chris were looking for. This updated and complemented the decor of their home and saved the time and expense of replacement. I thank them for the patience as it cured and the opportunity to showcase this great technique!

I love original woodwork, yet it can happen that time gets the better of the it after 100 years. Instead of replacing, consider repainting to give the craftsmanship another chance to shine.
I loved this project and spent many hours bringing Sarah’s trim into the modern feel of today. Such a gracious lady and a fabulous fellow entrepreneur. I am honored to have helped turn their home at Sycamore Farms into her own style.
