On this day 5 months ago is when the freak accident happened. I’m still very grateful for the overall outcome.

Recently some of you have text me asking for updates and I can’t thank you guys enough! Here’s a little update!

I’ve had time to think about if I even want to continue doing this type of work anymore. With all the time in the world to reflect- I’m going to continue forward with tree service. I return back to my full time job (light duty-no climbing for another 7months) Tuesday and I cannot be more excited!

I believe this type of work is an adrenaline you’re always chasing. Sometimes you get too comfortable trusting your equipment. One accident can change it all. Luckily enough I’m back to myself! I can’t say for certain when I’ll be doing any big jobs of now.

HOWEVER I would be interested in yard clean-ups, cutting firewood, any drop and notch into a yard let me know!

This year hasn’t gone how I imagined, but I’m beyond grateful to still be here, healing, and working hard in rehab every day. The support from family, friends, and this community has meant everything to me. I love everyone of you!

This entire recovery and been both mentally and physically exhausting. But anyways, long therapy sessions and long talks with my therapists, the goal right now is to discharge and be out of here on the 8th!

I’m happy to announce that I’m out of the wheel chair and I WILL BE WALKING INTO 2026!!

Everyone’s prayers for my healing process were answered! Only a few days out of the wheel chair and I’ve been walking without a walker and cane. Small steps but still steps. I still use the cane as of now because I’m still very weak in the right leg but we’re getting a lot of progress done. I couldn’t do this without the man up stairs!

Thank you for sticking with me while I get back on my feet. Thank you everyone for the continued support, prayers, words of encouragement! I truly believe 2026 is going to be the year JJ’s Tree Service comes together in a big way.

I want to give a big shoutout to Lincoln’s EMT’s and firefighters that helped me get to Bryan West. The team at Bryan West was amazing! Bryan west had some amazing nurses, doctors, and surgeons!

Another huge shoutout to Madonna rehabilitation for getting me my strength back from being laid up. Some amazing, doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists. Madonna’s therapists pushed me to my limits each day. Each day we saw improvement. When I first got to Madonna I couldn’t raise either leg. My muscle memory to function my legs was completely lost. With plenty of time spent with my therapists I was able to start getting that back. Now I have most of that back. I still can’t put any weight on my right leg and won’t be able to for a while. I can only pivot with my left leg with a walker. Meaning I can only transfer to my chair with a walker and that’s it.

I’m insanely lucky to be alive. I’m lucky I wasn’t hurt worse! I fell approximately 30-40ft from a crane. I was fully conscious when EMT’s arrived. Initially I had no feeling in my right leg. After many x-rays and CT scans doctors found that I shattered my pelvis and tailbone. I am fully convinced that I had some guardian angels looking after me.

As of right now I won’t be able to continue tree service for quite some time. But, I WILL BE back better than ever and stronger than ever! I appreciate all of the support I’ve had from my family and friends. I seriously couldn’t have survived in Bryan West or Madonna if it wasn’t for my friends and family that came and hung out with me. I appreciate all the prayers I’ve gotten! You guys mean the world to me! I’m so grateful for you all!

A little tree work goes a long way! We did some careful weight reduction and light landscaping to open this property up and boost its curb appeal — just in time for the market.

Talk about a transformation! 🌳➡️🌿
In this yard, we removed several large, overgrown trees that were shading too much of the lawn and crowding the fence line. Notice how the space feels bigger, brighter, and cleaner now — you can actually see the fence and enjoy the open yard. A cleaner landscape also means less risk of falling branches and healthier grass growth. Sometimes, the biggest difference comes from simply letting the space breathe again.

Out with the jungle, in with the clean lines 🌿➡️🚪
This fence was completely swallowed up by ivy and weeds, making the yard look smaller and overrun. After a thorough cut-back, the fence is visible again, giving the whole yard structure and character. The clean-up also helps prevent wood damage from moisture and pests hiding in the growth. A fresh, simple reset that makes the yard feel bigger and more inviting.

From wild to refined ✂️🌱
This hedge had grown tall and shaggy, taking over the sidewalk and blocking part of the window. After a precise trim and shape-up, it looks neat, square, and professional again. Now, the window has more light coming through, the walkway feels more open, and the entire front of the home has a sharper curb appeal. Small details like hedge lines can make a HUGE difference.

A chimney should be a centerpiece — not hidden behind overgrowth! 🧱🍃

Here, thick ivy had completely covered this chimney, which can trap moisture and cause long-term brick damage. We carefully removed the growth, revealing the beautiful stonework underneath. Now, not only does the house look cleaner and more historic, but the chimney can properly ‘breathe’ again. This is one of those projects where the ‘after’ feels like unveiling what was always meant to be seen.
