Back in Feb I decided to tackle a remodel of my kitchen and hallway. I knew when I started that this project was going to take must of the year to accomplish. I finally feel like I'm seeing the end of the tunnel! Don't get me wrong, I still have a long ways to go but I'm starting to really feel good about the changes. Yesterday I finished the hallway. Removed the wallpaper and painted. Replaced all the old trim, tried to fill and sand the paneling lines. Far from a perfect job on that but for now it will do. When I'm finished with kitchen, I may go back and fill some spots I missed, resand, and paint again.

Have I ever told you that ceilings are NOT my favorite thing to paint? Having said that I DID just finish painting 3 ceilings in my house. My whole upstairs is getting a makeover which is long overdue! There are 4 bedrooms and the hallway. I decided I wanted all the ceilings to have a subtle shimmer which is achieved by adding Valspar paint crystals to the paint. The paint must be used within 5 days after adding the crystals otherwise they may settle to the bottom and become coated. If this happens, you week not get the desired effect. Therefore, I wanted to use to the whole gallon. Hence, the 3 ceilings. I tried to show what it looks like but not sure if you can see the shimmer on the end of the stick.
