The Oneida Community Library would like to extend a huge Yawʌˀkó to Tribal Libraries, Archives, and Museums Student Group, UW-Madison students Melissa Wade and Sophia Grigsby, along with TLAM Program Director Cassy Leeport, for their hard work and dedication!

With their help, we were able to complete the HUGE undertaking of updating the spine labels in our Lotinuhsyu•ní Collection!

The Oneida Community Library has renamed what was previously known as our “Iroquois Collection” to the Lotinuhsyu•ní Collection, using the Oneida language to better reflect the people, histories, and cultures represented in these materials.

This change is more than just updating a collection name. It is an important step toward honoring our language, strengthening cultural representation, and ensuring our library reflects the communities we serve.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, care, and effort Melissa, Sophia, and Cassy contributed to making this project possible!

Yawʌˀkó for helping us make this meaningful change! 💜📚

The Oneida Community Library would like to make our community aware of a scam that is currently circulating and targeting library patrons across Wisconsin and other areas.

Scammers may contact individuals by email, text message, or phone call while pretending to represent a library. These messages may ask for personal information, library card numbers, or direct you to click on suspicious links.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝:
▪️ Emails with subjects written in ALL CAPS asking patrons to complete a survey.
▪️ Questions about library card information and other unrelated topics.
▪️ Phone calls requesting library card numbers or personal information.

⚠️ 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: The Oneida Community Library will never ask for sensitive personal information through unsolicited emails, texts, or phone calls.

If you receive a message claiming to be from the library and are unsure whether it is legitimate:
❌ Do not click any links.
❌ Do not provide personal information.
✅ Contact the library directly to verify the communication.

Help us keep our community safe by sharing this information with family and friends.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Oneida Community Library.

Renew your library card. Roll in the leaves. Enjoy the crisp fall air. Call your loved ones. Enjoy the small things in life and don’t sweat the big things. Say please and thank you. Please renew your library card.

If you're looking for something fun to do and searching for that tiny burst of energy that makes you go, "wheeee!" (like the one you get when you purchase something on sale) but you don't want to spend any money, you could always come sign up for a free library card. Just sayin'.
